
As China prepares to takes centre stage as host of the 2008 Summer Olympics, the world’s most populous country still faces tough questions concerning its record on human rights, the environment, democracy and other issues. Still, it remains an undeniably important superpower.
Concordia and its faculty members have had a long history of collaboration with the People’s Republic of China and its universities. We introduce you to 12 professors from each of Concordia’s four faculties whose work—in areas as diverse as molecular biology, mechanical control systems and Chinese opera—brings Concordians closer to China.
