Webbed & Wireless

From Facebook, Google, eBay and Wikipedia to BlackBerries and iPhones, internet and telecommunications play an ever-escalating role in our lives. Today’s technology for communicating with others and retrieving information is light-years ahead of where it was just a decade ago—and probably light-years behind where it will be in the coming years.

While these advances offer tremendous opportunities for improved methods of interaction and access to knowledge, they also present a lengthy list of challenges, such as providing adequate security, bringing equal opportunity for individuals in lesser developed economies or finding ways to attract users.

Fortunately, Concordians are on the case. We introduce you to a handful of the many Concordia faculty members and alumni who are conducting research and business, experimenting with new products and ideas or otherwise involved in our increasingly webbed and wireless world.
